No elections will be held for the next 6 months in AP

The AP government, which has been adamant not to hold local body elections in Andhra Pradesh, seems to have no intention of even consulting the SEC as per the High Court orders.

As there has been no update from the government on the issue of negotiations so far, recently orders have been issued extending the rule of special officers in place of ZP MPs.

For another six months, special officers will administer local bodies, as they do now.

The Mandal Parishad will have the rule of special officers till July 3 and the Zilla Parishad till July 4.

From this, it is clear that there will be no elections in AP for the next six months.
