Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar made a sensational decision especially in the wake of unanimity in particular districts.
It has been announced that the consensus in Chittoor and Guntur districts will be suspended.
The two districts were ordered to be put on hold as heavy consensus was registered. Nimmagadda clarified that consensus should not be declared until further orders.
SEC Nimmagadda asked the collectors of Guntur and Chittoor districts to send a full report on the unanimous panchayats to the Election Commission.
He clarified that the necessary steps would be taken after examining the reports. So far in the first phase of panchayat elections, 110 panchayats in Chittoor district and 67 panchayats in Guntur district seem to have been unanimous
