Nimmagadda one step ahead of Jagan every time?

The Andhra Pradesh Election Commission has announced that the State Election Commission will meet soon with the Chief Secretary to seek the government’s opinion on the conduct of the elections. It is learned that Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar had a meeting with political parties from Wednesday morning to noon to gather views on the conduct of the elections.

It is known that the YSR Congress Party has skipped the meeting and appealed to the High court to issue a stay on the all-party meeting with the latter rejected. But, the government is waiting for a right turn to ruin Nimmagadda’s plans but now, it seems the controversy has reached its climax.

Coming to the meet, the remaining 18 parties were present despite the absence of the ruling YCP. Among the parties present at the meeting were TDP, BJP, CPI, BSP and others who said they would participate if elections were held. They also demanded the abolition of the ZPTC MPTC seats, which were declared unanimous by the time of the postponement.

Many, including the YCP which had to be represented by Ambati Ramababu, had speculated that the parties will make such demands. However, the Election Commission seems to have one step ahead of the AP government as they had already clarified that it had discussed with the health department officials on the conditions of the corona virus in the state.

But, they did not say when the Election Commission officials discussed with the health department officials if the same was true. In addition to this, the Election Commission did not elaborate on the views expressed by the parties at the political parties’ meeting held by them.

Amid all this confusion, a meeting is set with the Government and it seems the plan is working the SEC’s way at the moment as they are covering all their bases well before going combating the ever-powerful YSRCP who are facing serious jolts at the Courts.
