Surya Kumar Yadav seems to be very unhappy for not getting selected for the upcoming Indo-Australia bilateral series. He shelled out his anger on BCCI and Indian captain Virat Kohli by smashing the latter’s Royal Challengers Bangalore tonight in Abu Dhabi. His sensational knock (79*) helped Mumbai win against RCB by five wickets. With this win, Mumbai is now just an inch away from sealing a spot in the playoffs. For RCB, the young Devdutt Padikkal shined by scoring 74 runs.
Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bowl first. RCB got a stunning start from its openers Devdutt Padikkal and Josh Philippe. Both of them made a partnership of 71 runs for the first wicket. Rahul Chahar gave a breakthrough for Mumbai by dismissing Philippe. Virat Kohli and de Villiers failed to play a big inning tonight. On the other hand, wickets kept falling but the young Padikkal remained confident in his batting. Thus, he made yet another half-century of this season. With the help of a major contribution from him, RCB managed to score 164/6 in 20 overs. Jasprit Bumrah scalped three wickets by giving away only 14 runs.
Mumbai got an average start while chasing this total. Opener Quinton de Kock got out in the sixth over. Within a couple of overs, Ishan Kishan got out as well. After that, the big man Saurabh Tiwari came and went back to the dugout. Soon, Chahal dismissed Krunal Pandya. When Mumbai looked a bit vulnerable, Surya Kumar Yadav brought them back to the game in style. His attacking knock never allowed RCB to snatch the game from Mumbai. He played sensational cricket and proved what a supreme talent he is. Yadav got good support from Hardik Pandya. Yadav’s unbeaten knock of 79 runs helped Mumbai in scoring 166/5 in 19.1 overs.
