The Nampally court on Saturday issued summons to TPCC president and Malkajgiri MP Revanth Reddy in cash-for-vote case. The court has accepted the entire charge sheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the case.
The Nampally court also issued summons to Sandra Venkata Veerayya, Sebastian, Uday Sinha, Matthayya and Krishna Keertan Reddy. The court will hear the entire cases for which summons has been issued. The Metropolitan Sessions Judge (MSJ) court ordered them to appear for trial on October 4.
For the unversed, Revanth Reddy offered Rs 50 lakh cash to Anglo Indian nominated MLA Elvish Stephenson for voting in favour of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) candidate. The offence took place on May 31, 2015. Revanth was in TDP at the time of the incident. He later joined the Congress party, and he is now the chief of the Telangana Congress.
ED has named Revanth Reddy, TDP ex-MLC Vem Narender Reddy’s son Vem Krishan Keertan Reddy, Sebastian, a mediator in the scam, and others.
