The Supreme Court has ordered the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government to immediately reverse the diversion of the State Disaster Response Fund. This fund, Rs. 1,100 Crores, was given to the state government to fight the covid pandemic, but the Jagan government decided to divert it for other uses. The SC has now ordered the YSRCP government to immediately deposit this amount with the SDRF account.
Telugu Desam Party president Nara Chandrababu Naidu responded to this and said that the SC’s verdict is a tight slap to the YSRCP government, which has been diverting every fund it has been receiving, to cover up their foul plays. Most prominently, the YSRCP government transfers these funds to accommodate their cash benefit schemes.
Naidu said that it’s a shame that the government was not even concerned about the families affected by covid and that the government should try to make sure that the families are tended to, at least now.
