Movie theatres to be closed down from 1st March?

In what could be considered as a horrid development, movie theaters in Telangana might be closed down from the 1st of March.

Going into story, single screen owners and exhibitors in Telangana are demanding the producers to follow percentage basis revenue sharing model. They are saying that producers strike percentage basis deals with multiplexes and OTT platforms and even they want the same now.

Exhibitors and single screen owners have stated that they will be closing down theaters from the 1st of March if their demands are not met.

A delegation of Tollywood including the likes of Mythri Ravi, BVSN Prasad, and DVV Danayya are in touch with single screen owners. They are hoping to find an amicable solution to the issue.

With multiple films gearing up for release this summer, we can expect the producers to make peace with single screen owners and exhibitors.
