Sensational director Gunasekhar is currently busy with a pan-India project called ‘Shakuntalam‘. He is continuing his hunt for the heroine in this romantic comedy. Who would play the role of Shakuntala in this ambitious love story? Who appears as Dushyanta Maharaja?..such pressing questions created a great interest among Telugu audience.
Earlier news surfaced that Pooja Hegde has been approached for the role and has also agreed to do it. However, according to the latest information received, it appears that Samantha Akkineni will essay the role of Shakuntala. Although no official information has been received regarding this..hearsay is that the unit has contacted Samantha probably believing that she would fit the bill.
The director plans to launch the film in January and complete it as early as possible. Gunashekar and Melody Brahma Manisharma’s combination always worked magic and now the music director who bounced back with latest hit songs is composing music for the film.
Shakuntalam is the first Indian play to be translated into foreign languages. In 1889 the play was translated into 46 languages, including Norwegian, French, Austrian, and Italian. Gunasekar, who has been dealing with a string of flops for some time is apparently keen to prove himself once again to the industry with this film.
