Maharashtra home minister condemns the transfer of SSR’s case to CBI

Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh has strongly condemned the demand to transfer the Sushant Singh Rajput (SSR) case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from the Mumbai Police. He also slammed the Bihar Police’s jurisdiction in the case by saying that Mumbai Police are competent enough to find out the truth.

Deshmukh wrote on Twitter, “@MumbaiPolice already began investigating allegations about @itsSSR’s unfortunate alleged suicide. Even if Bihar Police registered an offence in Patna, under Ch. 12 & 13 of the #CrPC it has to be investigated, inquired & tried by police & courts within whose jurisdiction the offence is committed. I condemn the demand for the @itsSSR case to be handed to #CBI. The case is now being politicised for political gains. #MaharashtraPolice is inquiring into the case professionally & are competent in digging out the truth, leaving no stone unturned!”(sic).

The minister claims that no foul play has been evident so far. Details of the probe will be revealed once it is done, he stated. On the other hand when Vinay Tiwari, the Patna (Central) SP arrived in Mumbai on Sunday for further probe, he has been compelled to quarantine by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials at 11 p.m yesterday. As per the Bihar IPS Gupteshwar Pandey’s claim, officer Vinay was not provided accommodation in IPS mess despite appealing and had been residing in a guest house in Goregaon.

Sushant’s sister Shweta Singh Kirti expressed shock over the incident. She also shared on twitter by addressing P.M Narendra Modi to practice Lokamanya Tilak’s `The sense of justice’.
