After the bifurcation of Telugu states, to get a local status, the Central government has initially given a three years of deadline for the people who want to shift from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh. But as the time was found to be less, the then TDP government, has requested to extend the deadline for two years.
The Centre has agreed to the request and now, the total term of five years, has been completed by June 1st this year. Now the newly formed YSRCP government has sought the Centre, to extend it for another two years, to settle down the things.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, in his recent meeting with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has requested to extend the ‘Local Status’ by two years, for which the Centre has nodded yes.
So, according to the latest gazette notification, the final deadline to get “local status” for the people who are planning to migrate from Telangana to Andhra, will be June 1st, 2021.
The “Local Status” enables the people to avail the reservations, being provided by the government.
