Hero Naga Shaurya’s sports drama, Lakshya based on Archery game has been carrying decent expectations among the audience. Directed by Santhosh Jagarlapudi, the film had a theatrical release today. Let’s analyze it.

Story:

Pardhu(Naga Shaurya) who gets training in Archery sport aims to win the World Archery championship. In the process, he undergoes various struggles. What kind of challenges will Prabhu face in his journey to emerge as a winner? Forms the rest of the story.

On-screen performances:

Naga Shaurya is seen in multiple looks in his role. While his appearance during the training stage is decent, Shaurya stuns with six-packs abs during the second half of the film. Two action sequences where Shaurya showcased his ripped body are shot well.

Heroine Ketika Sharma is okay with her her looks but has no proper significance in the movie. The love track between the lead pair has not been showcased is a convincing way.

Senior actor Sachin Khedekar is okay in the hero’s grandfather role. Jagapathi Babu is not utilized properly as his episodes in the secon half lack proper presentation.

Off-screen talents:

Firstly, director Santhosh Jagarlapudi’s concept of exploring Archery sports lacks proper detailing. Adding to it, he ages-old narrative style stands tall as the demerit.

The cinematography by Raam is good as he presented the film on a decent note with his framing. Editing by Junaid Siddique is okay.

Music by Kaala Bhairava fails to register as none of the songs or the background music impresses. Production values for this limited-budget movie are okay.

Positive Points:

  • Naga Shaurya’s screen presence
  • Bonding scenes between Shaurya and Sachin Khedekar

Negative Points:

  • Predictable narration
  • Lack of proper drama

Verdict:

In an overview, Lakshya is an Archery sport based drama that revolves the life story of an aspiring Archer named Parbhu. Though Shaurya’s hardwork is visible on the screen, improper treatment makes Lakshya a disappointing watch during this weekend.
