Most recently, State Business Reform Action Plan – 2019 rankings were released by the Center. AP came in first in the Ease of Doing Business for the second consecutive time in the last two years. Uttar Pradesh is in 2nd place and Telangana is in 3rd place.
Meanwhile, Cherukuri Kutumbarao, former vice-president of the State Planning Commission, responded on this phenomenon and said it was a pleasure that AP stood at the top in the Ease of Doing Business in 2018-19.
However, Kutumba Rao’s in-depth analysis is a bit of shock to the YSRCP government. He said the Center had determined the Ease of Doing Business ranks based on the reforms undertaken in the states before March 2019. “AP would have been in the 10th place after June 2019 considering the conditions,” Rao added.
Kutumba Rao alleged that the present government is not thinking of any new concept except copying the policies of the TDP government. He suggested that the state should take the initiative using this Ease of Doing Business rank to the most by bringing in industries and companies to the state.
“How can Minister Mekapati Gautam Reddy, who has previously said that he has nothing to do with the Ease of Doing ranks, claim that AP is ahead in 2018 and 2019?” asked Kutumba Rao. AP is still number one in Ease of Doing in 2019 as the government’s industrial policies introduced and implemented by the TDP government are very effective.
Rao gave entire credit of the ‘ease of doing business’ rankings to the TDP. He reminds that India was ranked 142nd in 2014, up from 63rd in 2019. He said the measures taken by Chandrababu for attracting investment and agricultural development were the reasons for the state to achieve this feat.
So, he is clearly mentioning that YSRCP is still lagging behind the CBN government at effective business strategies and the entire credit belongs to none but CBN. It will be obvious that no YSRCP leader can counter Rao’s comments as no one in the state have witnessed any development from the YSRCP government personally.
