It is already known that Telangana Chief Minister staged a protest against the Central Government, over the Centre not procuring Paddy from Telangana. Despite the protest, Prime Minister Narendra Modi refused to procure paddy from Telangana. This has led KCR to organise a cabinet meeting on Monday, at Pragathi Bhavan.
In the upcoming Cabinet meeting, KCR is expected to discuss the crops to be cultivated for the upcoming Rabi season, given that the Centre has decided not to buy parboiled rice from the state. The government is also expected to suggest to the farmers of the state, the crops they are to cultivate.
Earlier, when the government asked the state’s farmers to grow alternate crops, BJP Telangana Chief Bandi Sanjay urged the farmers to go ahead with paddy cultivation, saying that he would pressurise the Centre to buy these crops from them. With the TRS strongly opposing this, it is now to be seen what will happen.
