Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao surely knows the importance of the bye-polls and how a stupendous victory in them can set the tone for the legislative elections. During the Telangana movement, his maximum interference in the by-polls yielded a separate state as well as the CM seat for the TRS supremo.
Now, KCR initially gave the Dubbaka by-poll responsibilities to Harish Rao. After the COVID outbreak, the KCR government acquired too much negativity in the state and comparatively, BJP has been one step ahead in the preparations for this by-poll. But, the pre-poll vibes and the surveys, analyses suggest that TRS will win this seat for sure considering the prowess they have in that constituency.
So, KCR seems to be not wanting to leave the game in open for too long and wants to close the deal very earlier by stepping into the actual battlefield. KCR exclusively focussed on the graduate MLC elections. This is because there has been a campaign for some time that there is a lot of opposition to the government among the educated.
Jeevan Reddy, who lost as an MLA from Jagittala, later won as a Graduate MLC. He got a huge majority and of course, the TRS candidate didn’t get any support from the educated. In the past, TRS has also lost in the graduate MLC elections for the Hyderabad-Rangareddy and Mahabubnagar seats. If the TRS loses in this Graduate MLC elections, there will be a negative impression among the youth and suggests that there is anger among them against the TRS.
If such an opinion displays to the people, they may face critical situations during the general elections. KCR has a clear understanding of this issue and hence is entering the field. The TRS looks to have an advantage no matter how it looks in the Dubaka by-election pre-poll analyses and now KCR rests all his focus on these polls.
