Telangana Chief Minister KCR had tested positive for Coronavirus on April 19th with mild symptoms and went into self-isolation at his farmhouse, on the outskirts of Hyderabad. He was under home isolation for two weeks and tested negative for Coronavirus on May 4th.
After a two week gap, KCR came back to Pragathi Bhavan today, and arranged for an emergency, high-level meeting, to review the situation of Coronavirus in the state.
it is being said that the Chief Minister would likely take a call on imposing a weekend lockdown in the state, following the High Court’s recent orders. A night curfew from 9 PM to 5 AM is already in effect in the state, and now, a weekend lockdown may also be imposed in the state, starting on 8th May.
On the other hand, Telangana Chief Secretary, Somesh Kumar, speaking to the media yesterday, said that the government is not contemplating the idea of imposing a total lockdown in the state, as livelihoods would be greatly affected because of it. He also clarified that the number of cases in Telangana continues to remain under control and that there’s also been a downward trend in the number of coronavirus cases in the state, which made the government feel that there wasn’t any necessity to impose a total lockdown.
