Kavitha made MLC unanimously

Telangana Chief Minister KCR’s daughter Kavitha is already an MLC, having won the Nizamabad MLC by-polls held in October 2020. Since she won in the by-polls, her term is set to end in January 2022. As a result, the elections commission issued a notification for elections to be conducted for the Nizamabad MLC position, recently.

Kavitha filed her nomination just yesterday and got unanimously elected as the MLC of Nizamabad already. Apart from Kavitha, only an independent candidate, Srinivas, filed his nomination. His nomination was rejected on the grounds that he forged an MPTC’s signature and a corporator’s signature.

The BJP and Congress didn’t field their candidates for the elections, which left Kavitha to be elected as the MLC unanimously. With this, the Nizamabad MLC elections, which were scheduled to take place in December, will now not take place.
