The Covid-19 pandemic, which has been declining for a few weeks, is once again spreading gradually. Several states are imposing new regulations, including tightening existing sanctions, in the wake of a steady rise in virus cases.
Now, the Karnataka government has made the negative RT-PCR report mandatory for those coming to the state. Due to the sudden rise in cases in the border states like Kerala and Maharashtra, the fears of lockdown have increased in Karnataka.
Amid these circumstances, the new Chief Minister of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai, responded and said that border controls should be tightened to prevent the spread of the virus and tests and vaccinations should be made mandatory. He was on a visit to Delhi and said the state would strengthen its health infrastructure to combat the epidemic.
The district collectors and Superintendent of Police have to take the responsibility of checking, Bommai said adding that he has discussed with the chief secretary of the state in this regard.
