Sand in the purview of private sector, alcohol in the purview of govt?? Janasena fires on Jagan govt

In the past, the YSRCP government has made it clear that any tender in AP that exceeds Rs 100 crore should be finalized only after being reviewed by the AP Judicial Commission chaired by Shivashankar Rao, and also it should be placed in a public domain for 15 days for a referendum.

Referring to the same, Janasena spokesperson Kusampudi Srinivas questioned why the policy was not implemented in the case of the sand contract which was given to JP Power and the tender was not reviewed by the AP Judicial Commission.

He argued that the privatization of social assets, such as sand, which were supposed to be in the purview of the government is being in the purview of private firms and privately-owned assets such as alcohol, were in the purview of the state government.

However, the recent decision of the YSRCP to privatize the sand is being questioned not only by the opposition but also by the public.
