This COVID-19 pandemic not only brought the severe economic crisis to the state, but also ruined all the plans of Jagan’s government. To held the local body elections at the earliest, Jagan’s government purposely delayed 10th class exams and budget sessions but the COVID-19 outbreak postponed the polls.
However, without the budget, Jagan’s government used the Otan account in the budget for four month’s which was approved by the governor. Now, the government has decided to hold the budget sessions on 16th this month as the Rajya Sabha elections will take place on June 19th. As TDP nominated their leader for Raja Sabha seat, the voting is inevitable.
On the other side, the MLAs and ministers are feared by COVID-19 to attend the budget sessions. The assembly guard was recently infected with COVID-19 and the whole assembly hall was sanitized. Now, apart from these budget sessions, the AP government has another headache. If the budget sessions take place in the assembly there needs to be a council that has to take place for sure.
It is known that Jagan’s government has passed a bill to the parliament for the abolition of the legislative council which is yet to get approved. So, Jagan has to fasten up things on council ban even in this COVID-19 pandemic, or else he needs to find an alternative for budget sessions to get budget for the state which is an impossible task.
