It seems, YSRCP government is severely hurt over the way the Centre reacted towards Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), when Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has planned to conduct a probe on it. Keeping it in mind, now even before consulting Centre, the Jagan government has decided to change the modalities of Amaravati project.
A state government is supposed to take the approval of the Central government before applying for loans from the World Bank and any other international bodies. Even the previous government-TDP, has convinced Prime Minister Narendra Modi and took the loan from World Bank for the construction of Amaravati capital city.
But the YSRCP government has completely ignored taking any such approvals from the Centre and adding to it, when the World Bank team asked Jagan to arrange for a visit to Amaravati, the state government told them to change the entire project proposals of the capital city project.
Hurt over this, World Bank informed the Centre and the latter asked the former to cancel Amaravati project as the YSRCP government is not at all showing any interest on it.

If this is the case with a huge project like Amaravati, then there is an every chance for the Centre to reject all the future proposals of the state government. Just like how Telangana Chief Minister KCR has become a target for Modi, now even Jagan joined the list. It should be seen how the Chief Ministers of both the Telugu states will be able to tackle the huge Modi in the coming days.
