Jagan gives false hopes to AP about Special Status?

The Special Status issue for the state of Andhra Pradesh has been taking so many twists and turns, with ex Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu having tried very hard for it during his term and failing.

Chief Minister Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy was quick to point fingers at Babu when he wasn’t able to get AP a special status, but he too ultimately failed at it after several attempts. In fact, despite mocking Babu for the same thing, Jagan said that Special Status to AP might be an impossible thing.

Now, Jagan has once again spoken of Special Status to Andhra Pradesh, in his speech, after hoisting the National Flag on the occasion of Independence Day in Vijayawada. He said that he is hopeful that the Central Government will grant AP with special status one day or the other, in the future, and that he is very hopeful of it.

On the same stage, Jagan once again reiterated that his government is not ready to give up on the idea of the 3 Capitals, and no one can change their mind about it. He said that this was the most beneficiary decision for the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Keeping aside the matter of 3 Capitals for now, it is really irresponsible for Japan to refill the heart of the people of Andhra Pradesh with hopes of a Special Status even after it has been rejected by the Central Government all of these times, and while the prospect still looks very grim and unlikely.

Right now, keeping the situation of Coronavirus in mind, and the crisis that it has brought upon in the country, it is even more unlikely that the government would be ready to invest huge amounts of money on any one state.
