ISRO to resume Rocket launch operations

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has made a key decision after partial relaxations of the lockdown. The rocket launched operations from the Satish Dawan Space Launch Center-SHAR (SriHarikota range) are going to resume. As part of this, ISRO Director Dr. Kailasawadivo Sivan held a video conference with senior center scientists and senior scientists.

Due to the lockdown in the wake of corona virus control, the experiments were shelved and the work was procrastinated. However, the PSLV seems to be launching in early July or in the first week of August, as soon as possible as per the news report at the recently held video conference.

ISRO prepared a Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle rocket to launch an Earth-imaging satellite called GISAT-1 and another mission Chandrayan-2, but the launch has been halted abruptly since the lockdown.

For this purpose, many scientists from the Vikram Sarabhai space center in Thiruvananthapuram will come to Satish Dawan space center on 8th of this month to work on the launch operations and facilitate the process. They will only join the work after the coronavirus tests are done and follow the social distancing norms. Meanwhile, the PSLV-C49 and 50 carriers are already ready for launch in SHAR.  In addition, carriers and satellites have to be sent into orbit
