Many Bollywood actors have united to request severe legal action against the offenders who took care of a pregnant wild elephant a cracker stuffed with pineapple that caused her demise in a stream in Kerala’s Silent Valley Forest.
Actors like Randeep Hooda, Anushka Sharma, Shraddha Kapoor, Disha Patani, Alia Bhatt etc among other people who are known to propagate the animal well being, took to internet to share their displeasure and appalled about the horrendous display of mercilessness and demonic acts by humans.
Varun Dhawan and Shraddha kapoor shared a cartoon by depicting the story how the elephant suffered. Disha shared the womb of elephant by iterating, “Hope the government will take strict action against these people.” While Alia shared her empathy saying that it was heart breaking and terrible. She condemned saying that it’s not some kind of a joke and solicited everyone to coexist and be the animals’ voice. Riddhima Kapoor Sahni posted a screenshot of a news article about the elephant and said, “Appalled.” Anushka Sharma shared, stricter laws need to be implemented against such acts.
According to news reports, the pregnant elephant was fed a pineapple bound with crackers that exploded in her mouth, inflicting a jaw break and leaving her in immense pain.
“It is certain that she was offered the pineapple filled with crackers to kill her,” Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) and Chief Wildlife Warden Surendrakumar stated. It was further found that the elephant died by embracing Jalasamadhi while standing in the Velliyar River in Malappuram district.
The Kerala forest department shared on their Twitter handle “Article 51-A (g) of the Indian Constitution says that it shall be duty of every citizen of India to have compassion for living creatures. The pregnant elephant in pic was killed in human-wildlife conflict. Action has already been initiated. But where lies our duty? N humanity??”
