Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy hired political strategist Prashant Kishore for the 2014 and 2019 elections in AP, and while the 2014 elections didn’t work out for Jagan, he came to power with a massive victory in the 2019 elections. Jagan and PK kept working together, on and off, after that, but it is now being said that Jagan has decided to ditch PK and go solo for 2024.
The main reason for this is being cited as PK’s collaboration with the Congress Party at the centre, and the other reason is that PK’s former colleagues are now working with the TDP. Moreover, Jagan is said to be confident about the 2024 elections, and being able to manage to prepare for the elections on his own, now that he has gained some experience in the matter.
Also, given that he’s currently in power, Jagan is said to be confident of being able to use his power to his advantage. He has already begun to lure the people of AP with the YSRCP’s welfare schemes, openly saying that they wouldn’t get any welfare schemes if Chandrababu comes to power. While Jagan may be confident about 2024, experts are saying that ditching PK might not be a good idea, with the anti-incumbent wave increasing in AP. It is now to be seen what will happen in the end.
