YSRCP government continued to maintain silence on its take on the development of Amaravati, the proposed capital city of Andhra Pradesh. Iin the recently released budget, the state government has tabled 2.28 Lakh Budget, which raised several anticipations, that the government may spend a major portion of it to the construction of the capital city.
But the state government allocated a mere 500 Crore for the Infrastructure Development Amaravati and another 65 Crore for Capital Region Social Security Fund and 50 Crore for Amaravati Capital City Development Project. Meanwhile, Rs. 30000 Crore worth projects are already in progress in Amaravati region.
Shockingly, Jagan allocated a bigger budget to his own Pulivendula region. He allocated a whopping Rs. 100 Crore for Pulivendula Area Development Agency.

It clearly implies that Jagan is not at all interested in constructing capital city. Even the state government, never opened up anything about Amaravati since its formation, anticipating that any development of it, will give the credit to the previous government.
That is also the reason for Jagan to stop all the projects related to the capital city. Either Jagan may be willing to construct only the operational capital like Secretariat, High Court and other buildings required for the government operations, or he may propose any other region in the state as a new capital.
