Already small film makers are going through a lot of hell for releasing their movies. They have to get enough theaters. There will be problems with distributors. Right price will not be offered. While there is no relief for the small budget films, corona virus has struck hardly on them.
While many films have scheduled their releases from March 25th but that doesn’t happen due to corona pandemic. While the lock down period is until April 14th, looking at the conditions there are many chances that it will be extended till April end.
Though from May, theaters will open, it will be unlikely audience throng to theaters. Already middle class and lower class people are going through tough situations. There is no enough money with them. Besides corona pandemic will be fresh and still audience will have second thoughts to visit a theater.
Considering these circumstances, until the first half of 2020, theater business is going to suffer a lot. This also suggests that small budget film makers cannot hold their movie until such long as they cannot bear the expenses. So few of them are considering to release their movies directly through digital platforms. Well, looks like it is a decent plan for now.
