After facing a defeat with a huge margin in the first Test at Chennai, India has crushed England in all the remaining three matches. The hosts won the second Test by 317 runs took the lead with a 10-wicket win in the third Test in Ahmedabad.
And, once again, the Virat Kohli led Indian team clinched the victory in the fourth and final match of the series with spinners Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin taking a five-wicket haul each in the second innings.
With this win, India has officially entered the finals of the ICC World test championship against New Zealand on June 18-22 at Lord’s.
Daniel Lawrence ’50 and Joe Root ’30 in the second innings could help the visitors’ side to cross India’s lead in the first innings. Without even giving a chance to India to bat for their second innings, the Englishmen lost all wickets in their second innings. England at 54.5 overs lost the tenth wicket for 135 runs. Thus, India won by an innings and 25 runs.
