In-Talk: BJP’s New Year offer to Central Govt employees

BJP government is trying hard to make things happy for Central Government employees. It is known that BJP gave Diwali gift to government employees in the form of raise in DA. Now, the government is moving towards reducing the eligibility for gratuity from 5 years to 1 year.

Generally, the gratuity benefit for Central Government employee starts after 5 years of service. From there on, gratuity will be calculated for the rest of the service years the employee has completed. But with the new rule from the government, the employees will have gratuity right after the first year and this saves more money for the employee at the end of the service.

Apart from that, in the previous case, if an employee decides to leave government job before 5 years, he/she may not get the gratuity money. But now, as the eligibility is being reduced to 1 year, employees won’t lose the benefit. A bill is expected to be passed in the house on the same and we may expect this to be the New Year gift to the Central Government employees.
