Huge crisis in print media… Worst days ahead!

This COVID-19 crisis period is proven to be the nightmare of the print media. Already, hundreds of layoffs happened to reduce the burden and now some organizations are getting closed unable to bear the burden. We are talking about ‘Praja Paksham’ media, whose management has confirmed that the newspaper won’t be available in the market from tomorrow.

This crisis period could be managed by the business tycoons and the paid media but the independent prints are deeply affected by this national lockdown and economical crisis because the tea stalls, retail shops, mobile news stalls, shops in bus stands and railway stations are the main sources of their income.

On the other side, the biggest media channels in the country are also affected by this crisis period and the NDTV reported that 10-40% of the salaries form the journalists and editors with more than 50,000 salary per month have been deducted.

The most reputed media house in the country, Deccan Chronicle credited the salaries for their employees in installments for the first time, and still there is some due pending. So, worst days are ahead for the print media if this situation continues for another two months.
