Ganta in dilemma as Vizag North result yet to be declared

Due to the non-functioning of EVMs, the counting of votes has been suspended in Vizag North assembly.

The election officials have initially decided to count VVPAT slips in place of EVMs, but YSRCP activists along with the party candidate KK Raju raised objections over it, as according to them, the VVPAT is not giving the accurate results.

Ganta Srinivasa Rao from TDP, was leading by around 2000 votes, when the counting was suspended last night. This made the YSRCP agents keep a close watch over the counting of VVPAT slips.

As any discrepancy in the results or any mismatch between VVPATs and EVMs is expected to lead to a protest, the election officials were taking extra care in counting the votes and declare the results. If everything goes well, the results are expected to be out by end of the day.
