Former minister and TDP MLA Ganta Srinivas Rao resigned from his post as an MLA in February 2021, but the TDP hasn’t yet accepted his resignation, which seems to be working in Ganta’s favour right now. Ganta resigned from his post to protest against the privatisation of the Steel Plant, and ever since then, he has been trying to join the ruling YSRCP.
Ganta was severely obstructed from joining the YSRCP by minister Avanthi Srinivas and Rajya Sabha member Vijayasai Reddy. He tried to project himself as a Kapu leader, and even tried to get into Jana Sena, but Pawan Kalyan didn’t pay Ganta much attention. After having tried every other option, Ganta seems to be sticking to his ground right now, as evidenced by his recent actions.
Ganta set up a large number of flexies in Vizag, greeting people on Sankranthi, which prominently carried pictures of Chandrababu and the TDP. Given that Ganta has been inactive on behalf of the TDP since February 2021, the political leader seems to have understood that he has no other option.
