Eluru Police arrested former TDP MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar again on Thursday. The TDP leader from West Godavari district was arrested by the police when he arrived at Madepalli as part of the panchayat election campaign.
According to reports, Prabhakar joined in the election campaign on Wednesday night in B. Singavaram village in Pedavegi Mandal.
A fight happened between the ruling and opposition leaders and it was alleged that YSRCP supporter Sarpanch candidate’s husband Samuel was beaten by Chintamaneni followers where he was seriously injured in the incident. Following this, the victim registered a case on the TDP leader and his followers. He was booked under IPC Sections 341,324,143, 323, 354, 354a, 171C, 506 (2), 455 R/w 149.
After the complaint was filed, the Eluru rural police held Chintamaneni on Thursday afternoon and shifted him to Rural Police Station. He will be produced before a judge this evening.
