For the first time after the bifurcation, the Andhra Pradesh government has announced power holidays for industries in the state.
With the power holidays coming to effect, there will be a power cut for one entire day once a week. This will start from 8th April through till 22nd April.
The government has stated that the concept of power holidays is to ensure there are no power cuts on regular days.
The government has also asked continually functional processing units to cut down the power usage by 50%. All the industries are also advised to follow power conservation models effective immediately.
While the government of Andhra Pradesh is already facing the heat for the power cuts, it remains to be seen how this power holiday concept will be received.
