Etela Rajender, once a close confidant of Telangana Chief Minister KCR, is now his arch-enemy, taking a dig at the CM at every opportunity. Things went south between the two after Etela was stripped of all of his responsibilities in the TRS. Things further worsened after Etela won from the Huzurabad constituency, from the BJP, and the TRS lost.
On the occasion of India’s Republic Day, Etela took a dig at CM KCR, as KCR failed to be present at the Raj Bhavan, for the celebrations. Etela questioned the absence of KCR and asked why the CM wasn’t present at the celebrations or failed to be responsible to at least send a senior leader in his stead. Etela said that it is wrong to disrespect traditions by not attending the celebrations, and said that KCR should at least respect the governor seat, even if he doesn’t respect the Governor, Tamilisai Soundararajan.
Given that KCR never missed out on attending the Republic Day celebrations at Raj Bhavan when Narasimhan was the Governor, and even took special care, everyone is wondering why KCR missed out on the occasion this time around. Etela is also speculated to have questioned KCR for this reason, and since Governor Tamilisai has never said anything opposing the TRS government, it is a wonder indeed, why KCR wasn’t present at the Republic Day celebrations.
