The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday issued the schedule for the bypolls in Telugu states. The notification for the by poll to the Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati Lok Sabha seat and Nagarjuna Sagar‘s Assembly seat in Telangana will be released on March 23.
The election for the two bypolls will be held on April 17 and the counting will be done on May 2.
Even before the Election Commission has announced the schedule for by-election to the Tirupati (SC) Lok Sabha constituency and Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly constituency, the political heat is quite evident in all the camps.
The ruling YSR Congress and opposition TDP have locked their candidates for the polls. On the other hand, the ruling TRS party is leaving no stone unturned to clinch the victory for the assembly seat.
Needless to say, the Bharatiya Janata Party, which has been trying to settle down in Telugu states, is planning to increase its strength in AP and Telangana by winning the Tirupati Lok Sabha seat and Nagarjunasagar’s Assembly constituency.
