The ruling YSRCP managed to win majorly in the recently concluded municipal elections in Andhra Pradesh. With the elections having wrapped up, the race for mayoral posts is on, with several people trying their best to snatch the post for various municipalities in the state.
Those who are eyeing the Mayoral and Deputy Mayoral posts are rallying behind MPs, MLAs and MLCs, who are supposedly close to the Chief of YSRCP and Chief Minister of AP, Jagan Mohan Reddy, hoping to be nominated and considered for the posts by the Chief Minister.
Dr Shirisha is aiming to bag the Tirupati Mayor post, K Suresh Babu for Kadapa Mayor post, BY Ramaiah for Kurnool Mayor post, Kavati Manohar Naidu for Guntur Mayor post, G Sujatha and Kamala for Ongole Mayor post, and from BC community, Bhagyalaxmi is in the race for Vijayawada Mayor post. These are just some of the names in the race, while there are many others who are eyeing the posts.
Vamshi Krishna is trying his best to bag the Vizag Mayor post while Peddishetty Ushasri, Banala Satya Srinivas and Giyyani Sridhar are also eyeing the post. Sources also say that Jagan is planning to increase the deputy mayor posts in municipal corporations and vice-chairman posts in municipalities as there’s a lot of people eyeing those positions, and so that increased posts will be able to satisfy and accommodate the majority of the aspirants in the YSRCP.
