US President Donald Trump has issued an emergency declaration for the national capital, Washington, D.C.
Trump has made the decision on the recommendation of city mayor Muriel Bowser to impose a state of emergency in the wake of Biden’s swearing-in on January 20.
On the other hand, the Federal Bureau of Investigation(FBI) has warned that there is a conspiracy to attack the Capital building in the capital as well as the capitals in all the state capitals.
It is against this backdrop that the state of emergency has been imposed as part of further tightening of security.
Democrats, meanwhile, have introduced an impeachment motion in the House of Representatives accusing Trump of inciting his supporters to the attack.
