It is all but confirmed that Nithiin’s upcoming film Maestro will skip theatrical release and premiere directly on OTT. Latest reports give a clearer view of Maestro’s OTT deal.
Apparently, Disney+Hotstar is paying a whopping price of Rs 40 crores for the direct to digital rights of Maestro. This is more than the theatrical market of the film.
Hotstar has been looking to expand its base in the twin Telugu states and they opine Maestro will provide them with the ticket to get close to Telugu audiences.
So, the well-established platform is obliging to pay a hefty amount for the digital rights of Maestro. This is one of the biggies t OTT deals in Telugu cinema till date.
The digital release date of Maestro will be announced in the next few weeks. The unit had wrapped up the shoot already and post-production is underway now.
