The increasing fuel prices in India are becoming a big concern for the people in the country. We know petrol had crossed Rs 100 mark a long time ago, and it is now diesel to hit the century in the country.
Sri Ganganagar, a small city in the northernmost part of Rajasthan near the India-Pakistan border, has become the first city in India to record Rs 100 per litre diesel.
As per reports, the diesel is now sold at ₹100.05 a litre in Ganganagar after state-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) raised automobile fuel rates for the 23rd time in 40 days.
Earlier, the same had reported the highest pump price of petrol across the country at Rs 107.23 a litre. With diesel prices now increasing there by another 25 paise per litre on Saturday it reached Rs 100.05 a litre.
Similarly, in a few areas in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, whereby advantage of higher VAT rates, fuel prices are always much higher than the rest of the country.
