Indian 2 is making the headlines for all the wrong reasons. The project is stalled and the chances of it being resumed are getting worse every passing week.
Initially, Kamal Hassan took up the mediator role and tried to find common ground between Shankar and Lyca Productions who are waging a legal battle. But his efforts yielded nothing. Shankar did not evince interest in the project.
Kamal seems to have come to a conclusion that taking Indian 2 onto the floors in the near future is practically impossible. So, he has given up on the project.
Kamal is now moving onto Vikram which will be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. He has asked the makers to plan the first schedule of the film as early as possible.
Meanwhile, even Shankar seems to be fully focused on RC15 now. As things stand, Indian 2 is dead rubber.
