The Delhi government has come up with an extraordinary plan to guarantee social distancing at alcohol shops and has propelled an e-token framework permitting individuals to book a schedule prior to purchasing liquor. After a nation wide lockdown, when government lifted the liquor ban partially, few of the eligible shops had opened all over the country on Monday following 40 days of lockdown. The Delhi government gave a nod to operate about 200 liquor shops across Delhi from Monday. Nevertheless, due to rush and long queues in some areas, only 50 shops were allowed to remain open.
Long overcrowded lines were seen and police had to use truncheons to maintain discipline at certain spots. Alcoholics thronged shops and spurned by not maintaining social distancing standards in the midst of Corona pandemic. Hence, Delhi government introduced the e-token system.
Here’s the procedure to apply for an e-token for liquor:
Anyone can log in on https://www.qtoken.in/ and fetch a token to buy alcohol.
• There will be two different lines, one with people having tokens and the other without it. Specific number of tokens will be issued as per the government norms.
• Users need to give their name and telephone number, after which the e-token will be sent to the telephone
• Tokens will be likewise be given for those remaining in lines, according to a Delhi government appeal.
Why E-token has been unavailable?
The e-token will help keeping up social distancing and cut down on spending longer hours in long lines by indicating time for every e-coupon holder to purchase alcohol at a shop. The individuals will require to provide address of alcohol shop in their general vicinity including their mobile number and other personal details, while applying for e-token on the web link.
