Story:

Bobby (Vijay Devarakonda) and Lilly (Rashmika Mandanna) are childhood friends and the  rapport between turns into love after they grew up. While Lilly suggests Bobby to control his anger, Bobby asks her to move away if she is not happy with him. The couple then breaks up. Bobby finds his way to reduce his anger, by travelling around the world.

In some unforeseen situation, the duo meet again. What are the situations they faced when they met again and did it lead to their reunion? The answers for these questions form the rest of the story.

Performances:

Vijay Devarakonda is perfect as an aggressive student leader. He nailed his performance in the film. Rashmika Mandanna was able to impress as a cricketer and her chemistry with Vijay is great to watch on the screen. Senior actor Charu Hasan is decent as a union leader and the rest other roles are satisfactory.

Analysis:

Director picked a good plot for Dear Comrade, but he failed to execute it properly on the screen. Especially the slow narration and the weak screenplay are the major disappointments of Dear Comrade.

Coming to music, both the songs and background score are good and suits the mood of the film. The camera work is good, as the DOP managed to capture the hero’s traveling scenes well. Even the production values are rich. Several scenes in the film could have trimmed to make the things crispy and easy to watch.

The duration is another setback for Dear Comrade. The slow narration, especially in the second half and the predictability in several scenes, disturbs the mood of the audience, watching the film.

Finally: Dear Comrade is just okay.
