India’s count of active cases has surged to 155,986. On Thursday, the country witnessed 16,577 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the figures to whopping 11,063,491. Although the covid incidence faded in few states, India still continues to be second-most-affected across the world, and ranks 14th among worst-hit countries in terms of active cases.
Of late after the successful second phase, the third phase is yet to begin on March 1st. As per the Union health ministry report, the cumulative number of Covid-19 vaccine doses provided to healthcare and frontline workers in the nation has touched 13 million.
It is already announced by central government that the nation would begin vaccine administration to citizens above 60 years and those over 45 with comorbidities from March 1st. Now the beneficiaries who are eligible to receive the covid-19 vaccine can register themselves in CO-WIN platform from March 1st onwards said chairman of Empowered group on COVID-19 vaccine administration RS Sharma started to media. He also added that with the extra GPS feature individual can select the suitable vaccination site.
During registration the beneficiary will get an OTP to his/her mobile who should provide necessary documents. The vaccine will be administered free of cost at government centres unlike private centres.
