The Central government on Wednesday updated its guidelines for the vaccination against the novel coronavirus.
As per the latest guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare vaccination for Covid-19, the vaccine can be taken three months after recovery from infection. The second dose should also be given three months after contracting the disease if anyone fell prey to the virus after taking the first dose.
The health ministry has accepted this recommendation by the National Expert Group on Vaccine Administration for Covid-19 (NEGVAC).
The fresh guidelines have also approved vaccination for lactating women. Persons who were hospitalised under ICU with any serious illness other than Coronavirus will have to wait out 4-8 weeks for vaccination. Screening of the people by rapid antigen test is not needed before vaccination.
