The Telugu Desam Party has been facing continuous losses in every election since the 2019 general elections when the YSRCP managed to win by a vast majority. Ever since then, the TDP has been trying to get back into the game. However, for such a thing to happen, everyone belonging to TDP must believe in it and work towards it, which seems to be far from the truth, as many TDP leaders are even considering bidding goodbye to TDP.
A lot of leaders wanted to leave the TDP following the TDP’s debacle at the Tirupati Corporation by-elections. However, these by-elections were immediately followed by the second wave of coronavirus, which made every politician inactive in the state. As a result, no one has taken any action so far, but it very much seems to be on the cards.
On the other hand, it is already known that Chandrababu Naidu hired a political strategist named Robin Sharma for his party. YS Jagan managed to win by a vast majority last time, with the help of political strategist Prashant Kishore. Robin Sharma used to work for Prashanth Kishore, but came out of that compound a few months ago. Before the Tirupati by-elections, Robin Sharma’s name was prominently heard but disappeared soon after. He has now come back and has reportedly suggested massive changes to Chandrababu.
Robin Sharma is said to be inquiring into every member of the TDP and conducting a survey, post which, he suggested Chandrababu replace every senior leader with a new person. He has reportedly suggested Chandrababu hire 100 new people in place of the old ones, which, according to Robin Sharma, will greatly help the TDP in regaining the people’s trust.
Jagan too followed a very close strategy in 2019, when he opted for more young blood to be ministers and MLAs, instead of senior members. Robin Sharma is said to have devised this plan in such a way that Chandrababu will have as little opposition as possible within his party, when he hands over the power to Lokesh, if there were youngsters, instead of senior leaders.
