Covid-19: First newborn death reported in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri

First corona death was reported in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district. A child from Rajputana died at Osmania Hospital, Hyderabad and was later found to be corona positive. The baby who was born on Sunday midnight was identified as pre-matured and he had died shortly while undergoing treatment on Monday afternoon. Local authorities were alerted when they were notified of the child’s death owing to Corona virus.

The newborn baby underwent tests at a private hospital in Janagama village on May 27 and blood level was reportedly very low. On May 31, he was shifted to a hospital in Hanmakonda and was later referred to Osmania Hospital, where white blood cells were found to be low as per the reports. Doctors said that while performing covid-19 tests for the baby, blood sample was found to be positive.

Since the new born’s mother is in the Bacchanapet Zone of Janagama District, 8 of them and 13 men who were in contact with the deceased’s father were suggested to be placed in the Home Quarantine. The colony of the village where the deceased resided was declared as Containment Area. Everybody in the colony have been instructed to practice self-isolation for 14 days as a precautionary measure.
