Covid-19: An infant conquered the deadly disease!

A family witnessed immense happiness about their baby’s achievement. In general a birthday is celebrated yearly, but the baby Dom, who turned six months old had been a victim of covid-19 from the past two months. He has been in coma since then and finally conquered corona and celebrated the birthday in the sixth month.

The infant had been under treatment in a pro cardiaco hospital in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was provided treatment for a total of 54 days for covid-19. For 32 days the infant was in a coma, while treatment on ventilator was provided.

Doctors say Father Wagner Andrade was brought to the hospital under conditions where the infant had difficulty in breathing. Medicines were given in an anticipation that the child was having cold, but they didn’t mitigate the severity and situation aggravated day by day. So the family took the infant to another hospital, where they confirmed that he tested positive for covid-19. The parents were in an utter shock.

He had some difficulty breathing so the doctors thought it was a bacterial infection,” Dom’s father Wagner Andrade said. “But the medication didn’t work and it got worse. Then me and my wife decided to take him to a second hospital and they tested him. It was coronavirus.”

The family said that they were desperately yearning for Dom to get back home as it was more than 50 days and he finally conquered. Andrade and his wife said it was a miracle that their child recovered. “First, I felt relieved, and then indescribable happiness,” Andrade shared. Dom will commemorate his 6-month birthday on June 14 at home with his parents, in the presence of relatives virtually.
