Court sentences death to accused in Ramya Sri murder case

The death of a B.Tech girl student Nallapu Ramya in Guntur in August 2021 had shocked both the Telugu states. The Guntur fast track court on Friday convicted Shashi Krishna, who mercilessly killed the girl in broad daylight. The accused was given death sentence.

According to reports, Ramya was studying B.Tech third year in a local private college. The assailant Shashi Krishna, brutally attacked the girl with a sharp weapon six times and managed to escape from the scene. Locals tried to stop the attacker but he frightened them with a knife and fleed the spot on a bike.

The girl died on the way to hospital while her family members were shifting her to the GGH for treatment.

The accused in the murder case was arrested by the police in Narasaraopet on the same day. The Guntur fast track court completed the trial of the case in 9 months.
