Initially, Telangana Chief Minister KCR and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minsiter YS Jagan Mohan Reddy seemed to be best friends, seemingly bonding over their mutual disdain for TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu. However, that fondness soon started to fade away with the many conflicts between the two states. While there was no outspoken bad blood between the two governments, there were constant reports of it.
Telangana minister KTR’s recent comments have made this bad blood very apparent, when he recently tweeted about the bad condition of roads in the state, and about the overall bad conditions that the state is in. The YSRCP leaders took great offence to this, calling out KTR for a lack of power supply and equally bad roads in Hyderabad. One leader even pointed out that Hyderabad, in which KTR and KCR took so much pride, was built from the hard work of the Andhra people.
This debate is sure to cause some deep turmoil between the two states and their governments. More people are expected to get in on this issue, and it is now to be seen how far this discussion would go. On the other hand, the YSRCP and the TRS are currently trying their very best to get the people on their side, in anticipation of the 2024 and 2023 elections respectively.
