Veteran film critic Gudipudi Srihari passed away on Monday night at his residence in Hyderabad. He was 88.
Worked as a film analyst and journalist for almost half a century, Srihari had written reviews and essays in many newspapers, including ‘The Hindu’, ‘Sithara’ and ‘Eenadu’.
Megastar Chiranjeevi has reacted to the veteran film journalist’s death. Condoling the death of Srihari, Chiru said that his healthy criticisms on many of his films had been very helpful in improving him as an actor. “His death is a great loss to the field of film journalism,” said the Godfather actor.
Gudipudi Srihari is survived by a daughter and a son. He was also a news broadcaster on All India Radio.
